Courses to take the summer before your first semester at SDSU
If you missed a prerequisite course, or your school didn’t offer an equivalent course to those required by SDSU, you should consider taking the necessary courses prior to beginning the fall semester. Completing any outstanding Preparation for the Major courses will allow students to declare the upper-division major sooner, resulting in the ability to take upper-division NUTR and ENS courses.
Please be aware that Kinesiology - Fitness Specialist and Kinesiology- Pre-Physical Therapy students are required to:
- Complete all Preparation for the Major requirements
- Complete ENS 200 & BIOL 212 with grades of “C” or better
- Maintain a 2.9 cumulative GPA or higher by the time all Preparation for the Major courses are completed
Meeting these requirements is essential to declare upper-division major status according to the Kinesiology impaction criteria.
Please be aware that Foods and Nutrition students are required to:
- Complete all Preparation for the Major requirements
- Complete CHEM 100 & CHEM 130 with grades of “C” or better
- Maintain a 2.9 cumulative GPA or higher by the time all Preparation for the Major courses are completed
Meeting these requirements is essential to declare upper-division major status according to the Foods and Nutrition impaction criteria.
