CHHS Outstanding Graduating Seniors and Graduate Students 2023

May 10, 2023

By: Peggy Pico

Congratulations Cleo Chan, our CHHS 2023 Outstanding Graduating Senior (OGS)!

Chan was selected for her outstanding academic achievements and community involvement with SDSU’s Students 4 Public Health and the International Student Association and Global Campus.

Born and raised in Hong Kong until age 16, Chan seized a rare opportunity to finish secondary school in the U.S.  She graduated from high school in Minnesota and said, “I decided to stay– and immediately applied to SDSU and got accepted!”

Her passion for world travel has continued to grow.  Chan plans to spend the summer studying abroad in Australia.  After that, she said she wants to attend graduate school and pursue a career in global public health.  But before she embarks on another journey, Chan offered a few words of encouragement to the CHHS graduating class of 2023.

“Congratulations to everyone!   It hasn’t been easy because of COVID and so many more things are happening in the world.  It’s hard to predict how life will be in the future– so just keep an open mind and take all the opportunities that you can.”

Chan will be honored at commencement along with the following 2023 Outstanding Graduates– selected by their respective schools and programs.

Thomas Apostol, School of Nursing, Thomas plans to take the NCLEX exams to obtain his Registered Nurse license—and will attend a new graduate RN residency practice.

Angeline Krueger, MSW, Social Work, Direct Practice Concentration.   Angeline is wrapping up a successful year-long Social Services internship at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center.
