Congratulations to Dr. Surabhi Bhutani on her recent publication in the journal eLife titled ‘Olfactory connectivity mediates sleep-dependent food choices in humans.’

November 19, 2019

Dr. Surabhi BhutaniDr. Surabhi Bhutani, Assistant Professor of Exercise and Nutritional Sciences, recently published a paper with colleagues from Northwestern University and University of Pennsylvania titled ‘Olfactory connectivity mediates sleep-dependent food choices in humans.’ In this paper, Dr. Bhutani and colleagues explored how sleep deprivation causes craving for and consumption of higher calorie foods and whether particular neural pathways and neurotransmitters in the brain can explain this relationship.
