Ken Fujioka, MD, Joins us Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, for our Centennial Lecture Series!

February 5, 2015

Ken Fujioka
Ken Fujioka

Our third speaker for the ENS Centennial Lecture Series is Ken Fujioka, MD, who will be speaking this Friday, February 6 at 2:00 pm in the Templo Mayor Room at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union.

Dr. Fujioka, from the Department of Pathology, UCSD Health Care Systems, will be presenting “Clinical Pearls on Choosing the Right Diet.” He is the director of the Nutrition and Metabolic Research Center and the Center for Weight Management at The Scripps Clinic. His presentation will focus on various feedback hormones that can shift during weight loss to biologically drive up weight when humans attempt weight loss through standard dietary restraint. Understanding this system and how the brain shifts metabolic hormones toward weight regain can help in understanding appropriate weight loss goals and adjustments in diet and exercise.

No rsvp is required for small groups. Large groups, please email Dr. Fred Kolkhorst (fkolkhor@sdsu.edu).
