Research Areas
My research focuses on the role of both natural and synthetic compounds in the prevention and/ or treatment of osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. My work in the area of bone includes studying the protective effects of natural compounds using cell culture, animal models and humans. I am also interested to understand the etiology of osteoarthritis and the role of sex steroids in cartilage degradation and the preventative role of estrogen-like compounds in cartilage degradation.
