Research Interests

My research broadly focuses on the neural control of movement and specifically how sensory systems contribute to our ability to move. The basic science aspect of my research investigates how the organization of the sensory periphery (particularly skin and muscle) influences movement and sensory perception. The applied aspect of my research flips this question around to develop informative tests of sensory acuity (which could be used to track pathologies and sensory recovery) by analyzing the kinematics, kinetics, and energetics of movement.
