Distinguished Alumnus

Anthony Carey is the founder of Function First-a corrective exercise and educational company that serves clients from around the world. He has developed the Pain-Free Movement Specialist curriculum, the first of its kind in the world.  Anthony is also the founder of Reactive Training, the manufacturer of the acclaimed Core-Tex® which Anthony invented.  He holds a Master’s degree in biomechanics and athletic training and is Personal Fitness Professional Magazine’s 2009 Personal Trainer of the Year and 2017 Finalist for IDEA’s Personal Trainer of the Year.   

Anthony has authored two bestselling books; The Pain-Free Program: A Proven Method to Relieve Back, Neck, Shoulder and Joint Pain and Relationships and Referrals: A Personal Trainer’s Guide to Doing Business with the Medical Community.  Anthony is recognized internationally as a leading expert on biomechanics, corrective exercise, functional anatomy and motor control and their relationships to musculoskeletal pain and function.
