Master of Science

The School of Exercise and Nutritional Sciences offers graduate study leading to the MS degree in Athletic Training, the MS degree in Exercise Physiology, the MS degree in Food Science, the MS degree in Nutritional Sciences, as well as a program leading to concurrent MS degrees in Nutritional Science and Exercise Physiology.

Students completing graduate study in the School of ENS are prepared for careers in healthcare, industry, and academia, with options that include working in clinical or rehabilitative settings, with sports teams, or in corporate wellness. Graduate students are also prepared to pursue further graduate study leading to a terminal degree (e.g., PhD) for employment as a professor at a college or university.

The programs leading to MS degrees in Exercise Physiology, Food Science, and Nutritional Sciences are based in research, and a culminating research project completed under the guidance of a faculty mentor is a critical component of each program. Applicants are encouraged to reach out to faculty members and identify potential research areas prior to admission, and students are encouraged to begin working on their research projects early in the program. More information about our faculty can be found on this pdf and also by clicking on the ‘Faculty’ links on each program page.
