Verification of at least 100 total hours of observation under a Certified Athletic Trainer in two or more settings (e.g., university/college, high school, and/or clinic) within two years of the application date.

Acceptable ECC providers are those adhering to the most current “International Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiac Care.” Please check with your ECC provider to confirm that the course includes all components.

Ethics, Empathy, and Equity. These are not simply words but what we espouse every single day - clinically, academically, and morally.

The MSAT has two scholarships students will be able to apply for once enrolled in the program. However, there are several competitive scholarships available to all graduate students via Aztec Scholarships.

1. The Robert Bowers, Sr. Scholarship is available to current MSAT students who are also active members of the Future Athletic Trainers Society (FATS). This scholarship involves a competitive application process.

2. The Voight-Moore Scholarship. This scholarship also involves a competitive application process.

3. Additionally, MSAT students are eligible to apply for scholarship opportunities offered through the NATA and FWATA.

For the second immersive clinical experience, yes, we encourage students to broaden their experiences. If there is a particular clinical setting you want to pursue, we will support that.

Yes. Our students have completed rotations at Camp Pendleton with Wounded Warriors. Additionally, our students are required to complete a rotation with the Warrior Athlete Reconditioning Program at Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD). The Marine School of Infantry - East at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina has also been an immersive internship site.
